K.L. – innovative strength and performance of technical textiles
The variety and performance of technical textiles, plastics and adhesives is almost unlimited. In this respect, our product engineers aim to recognise the possibilities that laminated materials offer for your problem and, if possible, to rely on existing standards from our many years of experience. Because high-performance materials have to be economical too.
K.L. and their employees see themselves as textile problem solvers and full-service partners. Based on a profound understanding of the technical and economic requirements, we assume responsibility for development and production across all the necessary value creation stages for our customers.
We sell and process K.L. products, semi-finished products from alternative manufacturers and innovative partners or customer items provided at our own expense or as contract work.
Our know-how for your material
K.L. has state-of-the-art thermal laminating and coating systems with an annual production capacity of more than 90 million m². We use this machinery to produce open coatings as well as single and multi-layer composite materials, whether in rolls or sheets. Materials with a width of up to 3200 mm can be processed. In addition, K.L. has the possibility of cutting or perforating a wide variety of materials with a high degree of precision on our rewinding cutting machines.
At the downstream stages of the value chain, we are happy to offer you further finishing steps such as the cutting or punching of individual parts, the packaging of short lengths and individual parts, the cutting of narrow rolls or other surface treatments such as perforation or printing.
With an almost unlimited range of materials to create your desired material combination
In order to manufacture high-quality products, we manufacture application-specific solutions from a wide variety of different materials. Using suitable adhesives and hot melts, ultrafine aluminium foils 6 µm thick are used to produce membranes, linoleum floors or sports floor coverings up to 1.2 cm thick and 2 kg/m² in weight that meet the highest demands.
K.L. processes hot melt adhesives from 5-1,000 g/m², various bitumen and butyl compounds up to 1,000 g/m², thermoplastic powders, adhesive webs and adhesive films. The adhesives are applied over the entire surface, breathable or as adhesive strips.
In our own laboratory facility, we develop tailor-made solutions up to a sample width of 45 cm according to your specifications and requirements. Our application-related development combined with our own mechanical engineering enables us to produce everything from self-adhesive membranes to fibre-reinforced composite materials in multi-material design. Various material combinations are also conceivable in this business area, such as polypropylene-glass tapes with nonwoven cores.

We develop innovative products for you in our own laboratory
The variety and performance of technical textiles, plastics and adhesives is almost unlimited. In this respect, our product engineers aim to recognise the possibilities that laminated materials offer for your problem and, if possible, to rely on existing standards from our many years of experience. In order to minimise the development costs incurred, K.L. is able to simulate all composite materials in advance on a laboratory scale on a 45 cm wide plant at the technical centre.
This enables us to develop high-performance materials that fully meet both your technical and economic requirements.
