FlexiWarm® – individual heating solutions of the future with a wide range of possible uses
The ever-increasing demands for energy-efficient heating solutions in trans-sectoral industries such as housing, automotive, aviation and aerospace as well as transportation make customised, fast and long-term stable FlexiWarm® product solutions essential. The conductive FlexiWarm® film can be individually configured and designed according to our customer requirements. Examples of applications include lens hood heaters for de-icing driver assistance systems, comfort surface heating of interior components such as armrests on centre consoles and door panels. FlexiWarm® also offers a robust and efficient solution for heating the vehicle occupants close to the body in the area of electromobility, where the lack of waste heat from the combustion engine poses new challenges. Electric floor, wall and ceiling heating is becoming increasingly important due to the energy transition. Here, FlexiWarm® offers a variety of implementation options.
The FlexiWarm® film works as an ohmic resistance and can be used as a full-surface heating film. Different surface heating capacities can be implemented, which can be selected analogue to the customer-specific technical requirements. In addition, we not only consider the heating aspect; through our know-how in the field of laminations and composites, we can consider further processing and/or finishing processes directly as well.
The main properties of the film are: extremely thin, flexible, fast and homogeneous heating, no hotspot areas. There are almost no limits to its ability to be integrated in further processing, and temperature control using various sensors is part of our daily business. K.L. develops and produces ready-to-install components (e.g. cable harness, sensors, plug connections). Process integration is also possible thanks to the high flexibility of FlexiWarm®: foam backing, fibre compression, cutting, punching, sewing or, for example, integration in plastic injection moulding.
Depending on customer needs, we have the option of producing large series in highly automated systems. But small batches can also be implemented using partially automated processes or in our in-house factory. We would be go into more detail about this in a personal conversation.
